KAFKA - A cage went looking for a bird

Scenic reading with texts by Franz Kafka

Introduction at 17:30 in the foyer | Last performance

"i think you should only read books that bite and sting you. IF THE BOOK WE'RE READING DOESN'T WAKE US UP WITH A PUNCH TO THE SKULL, WHY ARE WE READING IT? A BOOK MUST BE THE AXE FOR THE FROZEN SEA WITHIN US."

A man is arrested and a mysterious bureaucratic labyrinth threatens to swallow him up. A young emigrant faces more traps than opportunities and women dressed as angels playing the trombone. A rope is stretched across the floor as if to trip him up and yet shows him the true path: Franz Kafka's universe is notoriously peculiar. At the same time, his stories are full of enigmatic mental images that still affect us today. To mark the 100th anniversary of his death this year, we take you on a fantastic journey into Kafka's world...
