A walk through the Greifswald tropics - the greenhouse complex of the Greifswald Botanical Garden
Guided tour with Ingrid Handt | Participation: 9 euros
The greenhouses have been home to plants from various tropical regions in uninterrupted use since 1886. The different houses offer the appropriate conditions for the respective requirements.
Since 2019, the three historic large greenhouses have been extensively restored and give an idea of the tropical rainforest in all its vigour. A newly created lecture area now also allows small events to be held in a tropical setting.
The lack of light in winter can also be felt in the plants, but with their abundance of green colours they make you forget the dark season and provide a first prelude to the new garden year.
Horticultural technician Ingrid Handt gives a guided tour of the greenhouses and also provides an insight into the renovation of the facility.
