Scenic reading from "Der alte König in seinem Exil" by Arno Geiger with Carola Schure and Luise G. Bernsdorf
As part of the exhibition "Being forgetful. Living with dementia"
The art and theatre educator Carola Schure and the social psychologist Luise G. Bernsdorf have many years of experience in a variety of areas, including as clinic clowns in children's hospitals and retirement homes, and have conceived and prepared this staged reading from "The Old King in his Exile".
With their exhibition project "Vergesslich Sein. Living with dementia" (finissage on 13 February 2026), the exhibition organisers want to help paint an understanding and multi-layered picture of dementia, because dementia has many faces. Every person affected by this disease has a unique life story, personality and experience. But families and friends are also affected. This disease changes the everyday lives of all these people, as well as their wishes, dreams and life plans.
Raymond Jarchow was responsible for the concept, interviews and portraits. Claudia Lohse-Jarchow was responsible for editing the interviews.
The project was professionally supported from the initial idea to the exhibition by the Greifswald network "Dementia & Culture".
Admission to the reading 5 euros
The exhibition is open before the reading, regularly from Tue-Fri 2-6pm, admission free, exhibition closes on Fri 13 February 2026
