Photo walk on the occasion of the World Wetlands Day in Greifswald
Photo walk with selected spots and exciting information about the moor
Every year on 2 February, World Wetlands Day takes place to draw attention to the topic of floodplains, rivers, moors and other wetlands. On Monday, 2 February 2026, you will meet the peatland manager of the University and Hanseatic City of Greifswald at 2:30 pm at Steinbecker Brücke on Stralsunder Straße (duration approx. 1.5 to 2 hours). We recommend wearing wellies or sturdy shoes.
Together we will explore the moor and the (suburban) nature at selected locations. While the participants point their cameras at exciting motifs, they learn about moorland protection and the area from the Greifswald moorland manager.
Afterwards, all photographers have the opportunity to present their photos in a photo exhibition on the city's website.
