Drama / DE 2025 / Director: Christina Tournatzẽs / 104 min. / OV / FSK12
1962, Germany: Twelve-year-old Karla bravely confronts a world in which children are supposed to remain silent. She defies the power of her father, the silence of her family and a society that would rather look the other way than listen. But Karla does not remain silent - she speaks out, denounces and changes more than she ever thought possible.
Inspired by a true court case, Karla tells the story of a young girl who finds the courage to stand up for herself - and in doing so gives others a voice. Elise Krieps touches in her first role with quiet strength and unwavering presence. Rainer Bock and Imogen Kogge strengthen the impressive ensemble with great depth.
A powerful film about civil courage, self-empowerment - and the right to be heard.
