Anna Mateur is this magnificent, wondrous phenomenon who, with her legendary vocal range and her hilariously serious sense of humour, eclipses everything in this country that attempts to establish itself as ‘high art’, ‘alternative art’, ‘minor art’ or ‘in-between art’. Anna Mateur is: Special Art. Times change, but crises persist. There are still more guardians of order than guardians of chaos, which is why Anna must continue to guard the chaos. What she will bring to the stage remains uncertain. Only one thing is certain: there’ll be everything except a bouquet of colourful melodies.
