Only three percent of the world's population still live in countries with unrestricted civil society freedoms. Allegations of terrorism, censorship, the killing or disappearance of people, attacks on freedom of speech and assembly or independent judicial systems have become highly visible. The role of civil society is also being debated in Europe and Germany.

The Atlas of Civil Society 2025 "Rule of Law under Pressure" offers insights into the global situation of social movements.

The event focuses on civil society initiatives that are marginalized and hostile because of their social or political commitment. It builds a bridge between events in this country and the global situation. The interested public is invited to attend. As well as local and regional initiatives that feel restricted and affected in their democratic participation as a result of recent social developments.

The event is being held in cooperation with Brot für die Welt, Entwicklungspolitische Bildungsarbeit Diakonisches Werk Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Bildungsprojekt verquer. Diverse Education in Western Pomerania, One World Promoter Program Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and STRAZE Greifswald.
