Greifswalder Drachenfest
Fly a kite with a view over the city
On Sunday, 2 November 2025, the Landfill Hill will be transformed into a colorful kite paradise with a spectacular panorama over Greifswald.
At the Greifswald Kite Festival, a colorful program awaits all visitors young and old from 10 am to 4 pm: In addition to a bouncy castle and face painting for children, there will be a kite-making station where kites will be built "just like in the old days". A scavenger hunt for different age groups will take participants across the entire landfill site.
Parachutists from Barth in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern will be taking part for the first time. If the wind and weather cooperate, the members of the Fallschirmsport Mecklenburg e.V. club will jump from a height of 3,000 meters and land on the event site at around midday.
Food and drink will of course also be provided and, as always, admission is free.
The best way to get there is by bike or the free shuttle bus from the central bus station. If you want to come by car, you can park for free in the HanseYachts AG parking lot.
A big thank you goes to our partners: WVG, ml&s, HAB, Volksbank Vorpommern eG, Cheplapharm Arzneimittel GmbH. HanseYachts AG, Stadtwerke Greifswald, MVL, Peter-Warschow Sammelstiftung, WGG and the University and Hanseatic City of Greifswald.
