City festival under the motto "Fairy tales and legends in Frederick's time"

On the last weekend in August, Greifswald is transformed into a gateway to romance. Under the motto "Fairy tales and legends in Frederick's time", the town festival transports its visitors into a magical world full of fantasy, myths and natural mysticism.

The market square is the center of the action: a fairytale forest is created there with atmospheric backdrops and imaginative productions in which musicians, storytellers and actors bring old legends to life. In the midst of this magic, a fairground invites you to stroll around - with arts and crafts, culinary delights and a variety of hands-on activities that bring romance to life in a sensual way.

The forecourt of the Pomeranian State Museum is dedicated to the spirit of the era in a different form: Here, the focus is on health and spirituality - themes that deeply moved Caspar David Friedrich. In the "Your Healing Place" tent, the tranquillity and atmosphere invite you to pause for a moment, inspired by magical fountains and places steeped in legend. Another tent offers soothing massages to harmonize body and mind. The offer is complemented by the University Medicine Greifswald, which provides fascinating insights into traditional and modern healing methods - a bridge between fairytale knowledge and today's research.
