Neoclassical compositions at the interface of film music and Gregorian chant. Jaspar Libuda: Composition, five-string double bass, loop station, live electronics
The music of the Berlin composer, double bassist and multi-instrumentalist Jaspar Libuda is located at the interface of NEOCLASSIC, FILM MUSIC and SOUNDSCAPES.
Jaspar Libuda's compositions are classical soundscapes, musical stories without words, a declaration of love to melody and the deep feelings it can evoke. A combination of virtuoso double bass artistry and electro-acoustic music. Using a specially built five-string double bass with a high C string, live electronics and a loop station, Jaspar Libuda creates an entire ensemble in front of his audience's ears.
"Music of haunting beauty. Not a note too much, not a note too little. The Berlin bassist and composer Jaspar Libuda is one of the best in his profession."
