Greifswald's path to becoming a sustainable city - strategies and measures for climate protection and sustainability

Greifswald took first place in the medium-sized municipalities category of the nationwide "Kommune bewegt Welt" competition in 2024. The competition, organized by Engagement Global, recognizes the exemplary commitment of municipalities in municipal development policy.
Greifswald was recognized in particular for its strategic and consistent approach to sustainable development and is now regarded as a role model for other cities and municipalities.
In this presentation, the environmental department of the University and Hanseatic City of Greifswald will provide an insight into the city's strategic approaches and practical measures in the area of sustainability and climate protection.
