Wilde Flora
Guided tour with Leonie Korbach and Max Wenzel | Participation: 7 euros | Meeting point: Wampen, Boddenblick
We are Leonie Korbach and Max Wenzel from Wilde Flora. As a landscape architect and biologist, we founded our flower field in Wampen near Greifswald at the beginning of 2022. Here we grow cut flowers, so-called slowflowers, in a sustainable way and also process them floristically. This combination of cut flower cultivation and floristry is called farmer floristry. Our flowers are available in a variety of forms, from simple bouquets and wreaths to more elaborate floral designs for weddings or other events.
We are also part of the Slowflower movement, a collective of flower farmers, farmer florists and floral designers from the DACH region. The collective was founded in 2019 by 7 people and has since grown into an association consisting of over 250 members. As full members, we have committed ourselves to clear guidelines, which include not using pesticides or mineral fertilizers, working in cycles and avoiding single-use plastic in floristry. The three principles of the movement are: Seasonality, regionality and sustainability.
As part of the tour, we report on our cultivation practices, present the types of cut flowers in our field and provide insights into the further processing of the flowers through to the finished bouquet.
