Demokratie ist eine Kunst: Gedenken und Handeln
Poster exhibition on important days of remembrance and action.
In 2023/2024, the Partnership for Democracy Greifswald developed 11 motifs in collaboration with trainees from the Greifswald Media and IT School (Wirtschaftsakademie Nord). The graphic designers in their 2nd year of training had the opportunity to delve deeper into a topic of their choice and spend a semester intensively exploring the background to the respective commemoration day.
The results of their work were printed as postcards and made visible in the city in the form of banners and posters. The exhibition "Democracy is an art - commemoration and action" shows the motifs created by the graphic designers. It highlights various topics that are important to our society, such as Democracy Day in September, Remembrance Day for the Victims of National Socialism in January and the International Day against Racism in March. Over the course of the year, various topics are highlighted throughout Germany and internationally through action and commemoration days.
The motifs are available as a set of postcards. The postcard sets are available in the exhibition.
