Mexico City in the 1940s: William Lee has fled the United States because his opium addiction got him into serious trouble there. Since he no longer needs to earn money, he spends his days drinking, taking drugs and looking for sex without commitment. One day he meets the much younger Allerton and is immediately attracted to the young man. However, Lee is initially unable to find out whether Allerton is also interested in men. And even after a night together, it remains questionable for Lee whether Allerton went to bed with him because he really wanted to or because Lee was financially accommodating. Soon after, Lee heads into the depths of the South American jungle to find out with the help of a certain type of liana ...
