Zwischen Ahnung und bestimmter Gewißheit: Lena Schmidt und Pauline Stopp
Final exhibition in the KUNST arcade
In the last exhibition in the Spielhalle KUNST, we are trying to close several circles: Two years of exhibitions in the former casino are coming to an end and the anniversary year is now also coming to an end in these rooms.
For the final exhibition, we have invited the Hamburg artist Lena Schmidt and the artist Pauline Stopp, who was born in Zschopau and lives and works in Greifswald. Large-format dark and gloomy cityscapes and ruins as woodcuts and textile and object art in bright colors meet in the Spielhalle KUNST. The starting point was once again a quote by Caspar David Friedrich: "...I am quite happy to believe that the artist may have to show a little more than he has actually seen in order to satisfy in the picture, but night must never become day, and there is still a middle ground between intuition and certainty." The exhibition reveals a multitude of degrees between hunch and certainty.
Admission is free. The gallery is open Tuesday to Sunday from 11 am to 5 pm.
