Colonel Perusi – Tyrant or Hero? – Figures from Greifswald’s history during the Thirty Years’ War.
Lecture by Gesine Nissen as part of the Culture Night
During the Thirty Years’ War, Greifswald was occupied by Wallenstein’s army for almost four years. Its last commander, Colonel Perusi, defended the town against the Swedes for almost a year, until he was unexpectedly ambushed by the Swedes in June 1631. But who exactly was this Perusi? A joint event organised by the Greifswald City Archives and the Sibylla Schwarz Society e.V.
