Of small creatures and great wonders
A cappella choral music performed by the Greifswald chamber choir Tonlust
With its new programme "Von kleinen Wesen und großen Wundern" (Of small creatures and great wonders), the Greifswald Chamber Choir takes its audience into a world full of magic, secrets and astonishing stories. The concert promises a varied journey through different eras and worlds of sound, in which fairy-tale characters, the beauty of nature and the great wonders of life take centre stage.
The programme includes works from the Renaissance to the present day. Poetic Shakespeare settings meet Nordic choral songs about princesses and elves, mysterious water creatures and nocturnal landscapes. The programme also includes sacred sounds of touching beauty as well as rousing compositions full of lightness and movement.
The selected works tell of the fascination of the unknown: of creatures that live between fantasy and reality, of the power of nature and of moments of wonder that have inspired people for centuries. Sometimes delicate and floating, sometimes powerful and dramatic, the choir unfolds a colourful musical panorama.
This makes "Von kleinen Wesen und großen Wunderdern" more than just a choral concert: it is an invitation to immerse yourself in other worlds for an evening and be enchanted by music.
