Photographic inspiration around the "windows for moving light" by the Icelandic-Danish artist Ólafur Elíasson

Since 2024, sunlight has been streaming into Greifswald Cathedral through 3383 hand-blown panes of the new east window. The 65 different shades enchant the interior with their complex and changing play of colors.
The inspiration for the "window for moving light" by Icelandic-Danish artist Ólafur Elíasson came from the painting "Hutten's Grave" by Caspar David Friedrich, who is nicknamed the "painter of light" due to his fascinating depictions of light and the sky.
How could it be more fitting for us, Katharina Wittfeld, Thomas Lange and Mario Tschirn, to capture this new light with the help of photography (ancient Greek for "drawing with light").
We hope you enjoy viewing our impressions!
