Spuren der Zwangsarbeit

Textile history of the Ravensbrück women's concentration camp

The artist Dominique Hurth has been researching the history of the former Ravensbrück women's concentration camp for several years. She not only focuses on forced labor and the violent history of uniform production, but also on the economic structures and their continuities up to the present day.
Through several encounters in archives, in collections, at historical sites and in dialogue with experts, objects and documents, she develops a practice of artistic research in which she points to the traces of forced labor and its after-effects in society.

Dominique Hurth tells us about the process of her research, the little-researched branch of textile production in Ravensbrück and the dark aspect of the development of sustainable fabrics "made in Germany".
