KinoAufSegeln: MULHOLLAND DRIVE

Season opening at the Heineschuppen: A classic movie by David Lynch

To kick off the cinema season, KinoAufSegeln is showing MULHOLLAND DRIVE, a classic film from the early 2000s. The film is one of the key works of cult director David Lynch, who died earlier this year.

A woman suffers from amnesia after a car accident on the winding Mulholland Drive in Los Angeles. Together with a young actress who dreams of a career in Hollywood, she embarks on a multi-layered search for clues and answers - between dream and reality.
MULHOLLAND DRIVE is a hypnotic mystery thriller that tells a story of love, jealousy and murder - and explores the limits of what can be told. Director David Lynch uses the medium of unreliable storytelling to break up familiar structures. MULHOLLAND DRIVE is a masterpiece of ambiguity - a film that defies any unambiguous interpretation and has long since achieved cult status.

USA 2001 | Director: David Lynch | 147 min. | Naomi Watts, Laura Harring, a.o. | English original with German subtitles | FSK: 16
