Postcards (Beirut-Libanon) at Kulturbar

Dream Pop

Postcards is a dream pop/indie rock band formed by four friends in Beirut, Lebanon, in late 2012.
Their music is defined by hushed, introspective vocals floating over expansive sonic spaces that shift between harsh noise and dreamy soundscapes.
‘I’ll be here in the morning’ (Ruptured/T3 Records/Cargo Records) is their fourth release and first full-length album produced by Fadi Tabbal of Tunefork Studios.

The constant oscillation between the opposite states of mind that the band deals with in their country runs deep within the album; the lyrics reveal a young woman caught between hope and disillusionment and the music complements those contradicting feelings with instrumentation that nods to dream pop, noise rock, shoegaze and jangle pop.
The result is the most sincere project the quartet has released so far.

Postcards had previously released 3 well-received EPs (Lakehouse in 2013, What Lies So Still in 2015, and Here Before in 2017). They’ve been regularly touring Europe, the UK and the Middle East since 2014 and have also opened for bands like Beirut (2014) and Angus and Julia Stone (2015).
